Giant Spiders, Sweaty foreheads, and fans nearly catching fire #itsamiraclewearealive
HELLO EVERYBODY
I'm currently writing this sitting on a hill on the seaside with a gorgeous view of downtown Seattle flying a kite. LIVING THE DREAM AM I RIGHT??
But this week was BOMB I'm loving being missionary!!
Times we seriously almost died in the middle of the night: 2 😬
Times we were fed taco salad: 3 🥗
Highest temperature for this week: 95
(Washingtonian's don't have AC either so it was a SWEATY week)
New friends found: 9 HOLY COW
Times my hips have popped: Probably an unhealthy amount
OKAY let's get into it, this week was FULL of meetings so here we go:
Mondayyy we finished off pday with our district with a hike that started in the forest, and then ended up at the ocean!! It was so cool!! Washington is so beautiful I can't believe it.
That night we went to a dinner where they fed us authentic Filipino food, which was bomb, and then we delivered flower arrangements from Kelli to random people!! It was so fun! We also had a MIRACLE! We didn't have time to grocery shop all day, and we went to a Ward member's house, and they fed us ice cream and then gave us like $60 of groceries just because! And it was like everything we needed!! #godloveshismissionaries Super cool 😎
Tuesdayyy we got up and were BUSY we went and visited Billijo, pray that she has time to come to church and read the BOM, then we went and tried visiting people and ended up at an old folks home and met the three sweetest old people named Joe, Deanna, and Odi, we love them. After that, we walked around the cutest neighborhood around the lake and it was SO HOT like, sweat dripping off our faces, bags leaving sweat marks on our shoulders hot. We just kept saying "at least it's not the Phillipines" because I'm #grateful to be in Washington. That night we had our first taco salad dinner of the week, and then we did Come Follow Me with Scott, and then delivered flowers to the Mumit Elders. Twas a busy but chill day.
Wednesdayyy we got up and had Institute and I accidentally fell asleep 3 separate times lol, then we had district council which was bomb per usual. We got to lead this week and it went really well! We went to Scott Elkin's and taught him about the Priesthood which was good, and then we went and had our second taco salad dinner of the week, which was bomb! That night we played Frisbee golf with the Ward for Young men and Young women's, because there's a course right by the church. We destroyed obviously 💁🏼♀️

Thursdayyy ZONE CONFERENCEEEEEE it was so fun!! We drove to downtown Seattle to THE COOLEST church ever! It was built by the members probably a thousand years ago or something and it's 3 levels!! It was really cool!
Zone Conference was so awesome, we talked about what it means to be on God's team, and then we got to study our patriarchal blessings, and lemme tell you, you should all hard core study those things, it's like a treasure hunt full of spiritual gold. We got to hang with everyone for a sec, and then we went and did service for Kim for the last time 😭😭😭 she moved on Sunday and we already miss her, tis very sad. We went to Larry's but lol he forgot about us so we're going back next week. Then we had an awesome dinner with the cutest couple in our ward, they're both BYU nerds (their words not mine lol) and they're awesome. Then no one showed up for Come Follow Me haha #sorryoldtestament
Fridayyy we got up and had a training meeting, then Mission devotional, then a 3 hour meeting for new missionary training (which wasn't as bad as it sounds haha). We wore matching outfits so we looked like creepy twins lol
Afterwards, we got to go to Cafe Rio with Sister Smith and her companion in Lynnwood with a member that Sister Rasband knew, so that was BOMB! We didn't really do much the rest of the night. BUT THEN we went to bed and around midnight we woke up to a car alarm going off for like 5 whole minutes right outside our window, and then it turned off, but then it started up again, so we looked outside and Sister Rasband thought it might be our car and she got freaked so we called the ZL's and they checked it out. It was fine but still spookyyyyy.
Saturdayyy SERVICE DAY it was insane bro we got up and helped a cute family move #wemissthebarlows and then we went to Kelli's and helped move wood chips and her boyfriend Stoney helped us out and talked to us about his siblings missions so that was fire. Then we went to Heather's and helped her weed, and SHE AGREED TO COME TO CHURCH!! Then we went Garage Sale finding which was FIRE it's going to become a regular thing for us because we found like 3 people lol. That night we went to a dinner with a family with two little boys, which was fun because I've never had little brothers haha! Then we visited Vera and her family!! It was so good, we love them :)) BUT THEN we were getting ready for bed and there was a GIANT spider in our room and Sister Rasband tried to kill it but it went under our bunk bed instead, so I was kind of up all night stressing about a giant spider. BUT THEN I woke up at about 3am having to go to the bathroom
SO BAD so I had to get out of bed despite the scary spider. I went into the bathroom and it smelled like an electrical/chemical burning smell, so I opened the door and the entire apartment smelled like it #bigyikes it turned out that our fan had overheated because it had been on all week, and when I went to pick it up it was like, really hot, so I put it outside and aired out the apartment. But I'm convinced Heavenly Father woke me up to take care of it because we could have straight up died. So that's exciting!!
Sundayyy we got up and went to church and Heather came!! We think she liked it...? Pray that she'll want to come again haha, and William came! It was his first Sacrament meeting in 33 years, and it was really cool! Then we both got a case of the sad Sunday scaries so we got out, and went to a member dinner where they fed us Pike Place salmon which was SO GOOD! After dinner we went to some referrals and met up with our friend named Sweetie Joy, the cutest old lady from Israel, and then we got in contact with a referral which was AWESOME! We also found this guy and he goes by King Solomon, which is so cool, he's chill. Then we hung out at a members house for planning because their house has AC haha!
Today we went to TARGET and then flew kites like I said before!! It's been a wild week, so many ups and downs it's so bizarre. Mission life is the weirdest thing I've ever experienced but it's so full of goodness!!! I love this gospel and I love Seattle!!
OKAY let's get spiritual
This week I was studying the Living Christ, and it's SO COOL when you study the scriptures that go along with it!! The gospel is so real its absolutely wild. So you should all go study the Bible references in the Living Christ! It strengthened my testimony and I know it will strengthen yours too!!
I love you all a WashingTON ❣️
