How many missionaries does it take to pack up a strangers apartment? #whydoeseveryonecancelonus

WHADDUP EVERYONE it's your favorite Washingtonian Sister Gibb!

Okay full disclosure: This was probably the hardest week on my mission thus far. Lots of people canceling on us, lots of things not working out, just not a great time. But it really gave me an appreciation for the little good things every day, which I was super grateful for! At the end of the day, the good will always outweigh the bad. I stand by that.
Anywayyyyy let's get into it!
Cookies eaten this week: More than I should even say 🍪
Flowers Kelli gave us: an obscene amount 💐
Times we called the APs for various reasons: 6/7 days this week

Mondayyy I already kinda talked about last week but we went to Pike and then that night we got to go ROLLER SKATING FOR YSA FHE WOOOOO I literally was in heaven, I could not stop smiling!! There were a bunch of pros at the rink who I made friends with who were mega impressed with my skate skills 😎 even though I had to use rentals, it was seriously the best thing EVER I was on top of the world!! #gohypeupmyfacebookpost Then the YSA people took us to Dairy Queen and bought us ice cream! It was such a good night!

Tuesdayyy we got out of the apartment and tried contacting some people with like, zero luck, then we went to the Vineyard Park old folks home and DEANNA TOOK A BOOK OF MORMON! She didn't want anything to do with it for the past few weeks but she took it and said she would read! It was awesome. Then we contacted the GARBAGE out of people and we were able to contact a lot of people and passed out another Book of Mormon! It was cool! But tons of stuff fell through so not much was happening but then we got to go to Sister Starkenburg's for dinner and she made us a BOMB roast, her food literally fills your belly and your soul. We just love Dale :) then we went to Scott's and that was good! But a weird day.

Wednesdayyy we went to a YSA lesson with a new convert named Hope and she's super cool! Her faith is awesome. Then we went on exchanges! Sister Freeze came here to Mountlake with me and it was super fun! It was a really chill day, which was much needed. We went to District Council, and then DI, then Scott canceled on us 😭 then we went to the Kavannah's for dinner!! Glenn was excited that Sister Freeze wasn't from Utah haha, but he shared more Bible thoughts and then I convinced him to take a BOM FROM US!! He's my buddy, I love Glenn so much. And he participated so much during our lesson too! It was awesome! Then that night we went to the Bishop's house for YM/YW and made smoothies, and then we made cookies for the Brier Elders and talked with them for a while to help cheer them up and it was SO FUN!! Wednesday was a good day :)

Thursdayyy we exchanged back and then we weeded for a woman named Chelsey! That was actually super fun. Then we contacted a bunch of YSA people, without much luck lol and then we went to a lesson with a Ward member and it was really good!! We met up with the YSA Elders and planned some stuff and then we had a BOMB dinner with the cutest new family in our ward! It was so much fun I love member meals 🥰 We did Come Follow Me with the Ward ladies, and then that night we went to YSA volleyball!! It was so much fun!! Soooo many people came it was awesome! And we had some non members come! It was awesome!

Fridayyy dang Friday was a rough day. Everything that could have fallen through fell through so that was no Bueno. But we had a good Mission Devotional and then we had a video lesson with William. We got to weed for Brenda! It was pretty good. Then we weeded for Judy, a funny member in our ward, which was fun because Judy and I talk all the time, she's hilarious. We had dinner with Debi and Judd Williams!!! They're our favorites! She's our Relief Society President and they're like our parents, it was so much fun :) We tried contacting more YSA people but that was unsuccessful, and then we got a bunch of free food from our Housing Coordinators! Friday was a rough day, but we made it through haha #icandohardthings

Saturdayyy we had 3 services cancel BUT we got to go to High Fit exercise with all the young moms in our ward that morning and it was SO FUN I had a blast. We went with the LFP and the Zone Leaders to help this lady move, but we got there and realized she had not packed anything. So she left 6 missionaries at her apartment for an hour and a half to pack up her kitchen while she was picking up the Uhaul. It was hilarious. And although it was disgusting and everything was covered in cat hair, it was loads of fun. Afterwards, we went to Heather's and helped her plant some flowers and then we had an awesome dinner with a cute couple in our ward and they fed us Costco pizzaaaaaaa #answertoprayers We contacted for a bit and went to Vera's for a lesson! We hadn't been over in like 2 weeks so it was so good to see them! It was fun :)

Sundayyy we got up and went to our Mountlake Ward which was really good, and then we went to our YSA Ward which was also really good! We had some of our non member friends from volleyball come and they bore their testimonies! After church we went to visit a new move in with Debi, which was good, and then we invited the LFP Elders over for dinner since they had to help finish moving the lady from yesterday and had no dinner appointment. They just hung out on our porch for a while and we just talked and it was exactly what all of us needed haha, we felt so much better after that. We CRANKED on YSA contacting and got our week STACKED for next week, it was like, a mega motivation mission planning session. #backintomissionarymode so the day ended up being super okay in the end.

Anyway, this week was a wild ride. Literally a 6 flags amusement park level emotional rollercoaster 🎢 but life moves on, and you live and you learn!! Also I got to eat some yummy sushi today so all is well in Zion.
OKAY LETS GET SPIRITUAL
This week I got in the shower one morning and just totally lost it. I just cried and cried and cried. I said a prayer and was honestly just super frustrated, and angry and sad and every emotional possible haha. It was one of those "where are you Heavenly Father" kinda prayers. But as I was praying, immediately the words to the third verse of how Firm a Foundation entered my mind. It says, "Fear not I am with thee, oh be not dismayed. For I am thy God and will still give thee aid. I'll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand. Upheld by my righteous omnipotent hand"
And all of a sudden I was hit with the realization that we literally are never left alone. I know that's what you hear all the time, but as I reflected on the week, I realized how true it was. Through the good, and especially through the not so good, I could see the presence of my Savior and my Heavenly Father. They're just waiting for us to humble ourselves enough to see them there. TRUST THEM. They're carrying you every step of the way. It was definitely a little miracle moment.
Anyway, hopefully this week we will be back to our regularly scheduled programming of bomb.com days in Mountlake!!
I love you all a WashingTON ❣️
