I think I'm destined to play in the world cup #ilovebakedpotatoes
HELLLLLLOOOOOOO EVERYONE
This week was CRAZY not gonna lie, so let's dive into it, yeah??
Times the ball nailed me in the face during soccer with a bunch of Spanish men: more than once
High Fives baby James gave me: SO MANY
Days we literally couldn't stop laughing: like all of them
Musicals belted with Hermana Funke: LIKE 6 DIFFERENT ONES (her music is elite)
Mondayyy we went to Chinatown for the day! We went to an Asian food mall called Uwaimaya which was soooo fun! We got some yummy snacks and some boba too!
Then we walked around what is probably one of the sketchiest parts of Seattle lol but it was fun! Saw like 4 drug deals but whateverrrr...We also got to go see the smallest National Park in the Country!! (Shoutout to Judd and Debi for letting me know it existed) so that was a dream come true.
That night we had dinner with a lady in our ward named Ann! She has a great Dane and not gonna lie, he was the sweetest dog I had ever met. Anyway, it was an awesome day!
Tuesdayyy we went to Humanitarian Aid with the Ward ladies which is always fun, and then we went to Judy's! She gave us the updates on all the terrible things happening in the world, per usual. Then we went to Hunger Intervention and helped make some baked potato meals! After that we met some members at a burger place for dinner, and it was so fun! It wasn't a super busy day, but it was a good day nonetheless!
Wednesdayyy WE GOT TO CLEAN THE TEMPLE!! It was a super last-minute thing but it was so cool!! I'm a pro at oiling wood and vacuuming now 😎 It was so cool because even though we were cleaning, the spirit in the temple is the same, always. It was super special. After that we were STARVING so we got SUSHIIIIII YAYAYAY totally a highlight of the week haha. Then we went to District Council and I got to instruct! We talked about Christlike attributes and it was awesome. After that we helped Ann at her apartment, which was good, and then we had dinner with the Abersolds! It was so fun, we love them :)) That night we did some finding in Safeway, and then some harvesting! Which is when we visit our members on record and see if they still live there, or if they're not interested in coming back to church or not, all that good stuff. We weren't having much success, but then we decided to stop by one more lady, and SHE LET US IN! She's a member who hasn't come to church in like 20+ years, but she asked some great questions and said she's interested in coming back to church!! It was a total miracle!!
Thursdayyy we cleaned at Ronald McDonald house, which was good, and then we went to our friend Bean's house! We helped her make some greenhouse planters out of milk cartons, it was a blast. WE LOVE BEAN! After that we had a lesson with a member named Wei, and he's Chinese, so it was a little hard to communicate, but he ended up coming to church on Sunday so that was awesome! After that we made some contacts, and that night we had to plan a presentation Sister Ridings and I were giving at the New Missionary Training the next day!
Fridayyy we had the New Missionary Training at the Mission Office! Our member work presentation went great, don't even worry. It was so fun to see everyone, and we learned some awesome things! We went to Kathy's and helped her in her house, and had a great lesson about prophets with her, and she wants to watch General Conference next month!! After that we went to the Dixon's for dinner, which was sooo fun, and their baby James and I are besties for the resties. WE LOVE THEM! That night we had an EXCHANGE! Sister Axley went to Spanish land, and Sister Ridings and I got Hermana Funke! She's so much fun, and we're basically the same person I think lol.
Saturdayyy Not gonna lie, it was a pretty slow day haha, but good! We had a Social Media Training that morning with the Zone, which was a blast! After that, we went to the DI and then we went and had a lesson with Kim! Some of you may remember Kim from when I was in Halls Lake, but the boundaries changed, so now she's in the Seattle YSA boundaries. And the Elders haven't been able to meet with her, so they passed her onto us! It was so fun to get to visit with her, and she asked some awesome questions! After that, we grabbed some dinner, and then we got to go to English class with the Spanish missionaries to exchange back! They always play soccer after English class, and THE WHITE KIDS BEAT THE SPANISH SPEAKERS WOOOO but dang it was intense! I got NAILED in the face twice, and was dripping sweat, but now Eduardo and I are besties. It was SOOO much fun!! We were glad to welcome Sister Axley back to Greenlake though :))
Sundayyy WE HAD CHURCH YAY It was a great testimony meeting! None of our friends came again, which was a bummer, but it's okay! We did our studies, and then we went to Peggy's! We had Stake choir, and then we made a delicious breakfast for dinner! Then that night there was a Stake Youth Fireside! It was so fun! Our Stake has some pretty cool youth, it was awesome. That was pretty much it for the day, it wasn't a terribly busy day but it was a good day!
Then today we're going to see the Space Needle! It should be fun! Plus the sun is out so it's gonna be a good day :))
OKAY LETS GET SPIRITUAL
The Youth Fireside we got to go to this week was seriously so good, I wanted to share some thoughts from it! President Knowles and his wife from our Stake Presidency were the ones who spoke, and he said this about covenants: "The covenants we make with God are a token that he gives us to mark the beginning of a journey. He doesn't give it to us when we accomplish something, but to start something." I absolutely LOVE that! Covenants aren't rewards, they're tools! He gives them to us as a gift and a lifeline to him. I would invite you all to study your covenants this week, whether it's your baptismal covenant, your endowment, or when you were sealed to your spouse. Study them, and reflect on them! Make them the focus of your life! I promise you will be able to feel God's presence guiding your life as you focus on them!
I love you all a WashingTON ❣️
