Mondayyy we spent pday going shopping, eating some bomb ramen, and going to the antique mall! It was super fun :)) then that night we had a 4th of July barbecue for FHE! It was super fun, and I'm not as good at spikeball as I thought I was :/
Tuesdayyy HAPPY 4TH OF JULYYYYYY WOOOOOOOO the festivities began with going to a parade to find people in Edmonds! We met a super cool guy named Joe, but unfortunately, no YSA homies. But after that, we had a lesson with one of our members, April! We love going to April's :) then we drove up to Everett and had a good visit with Stacey and dropped off some cookies! Then we raced up to Arlington and WALKED in a parade with some of our members! They do a haunted house every year and were advertising it in the parade, so we learned a cool dance to men in black and shared the gospel with our sick moves ๐ it was soooo hot but sooooo much fun!! Then we raced out to the boonies of Arlington for dinner! 3 of our members (who are all recent converts) invited us to this house for dinner, and we show up, and it's literally in the middle of nowhere. So we drive up their gravel driveway and it turned out to be us, our 3 members, and about 15 Guatemalans who didn't speak English. But it was SO MUCH FUN!! They had some bomb food, and we got to go adventuring on their property and meet their horse and their cows!! We love Nic, Jonny, and Trevor :))) so it was a 4th of July to remember ๐
Wednesdayyy we started the day off by getting some roommates! The Port Gardner Sisters had a fire in their apartment complex and there was damage to their front door from the fire so they lived with us for the week :) then we had District Councilllll which was good, we got Costco lunch afterwards of course. We had a video lesson with our member, Denna! It was so good to talk with her :) after that we had a lesson with Stacey!! AND SHE TOLD US SHE'S COMMITTED TO BEING BAPTIZED YAYAYAYAYAY so that was the best thing ever! Please pray for her as she prays for a date!! The rest of the night was spent contacting people without much luck, but it was good nonetheless! Then we went to our Office shift :) not a super busy day but it was a fun one :)
Thursdayyy we had a lesson with our friend Daniel, and it was actually really sad, he told us that he doesn't want to come to Church anymore, which was super out of the blue. Pray that his heart will be softened!! But then we had an awesome lesson with Hope! She's set her date for the temple which is super exciting!!! We had a phone lesson with our member Nic, who is just so freaking funny, WE LOVE HIM. And then that night we had dinner with the Jones's which was so fun :)) We went to Volleyball and had a HUGE turnout!! There were tons of new people there and it was so awesome :)
Fridayyy was a wild day haha we started at the Office and then we contacted and found all day!! We actually had a crazy miracle though, we drove to this one house, and it said the guy lived in 409. so, we go up and knock on the door. Some Hispanic guy answered who didn't speak much English and let us know that the guy we were looking for doesn't live there. We got back in the car, and looked at the address and found out that the house we had been looking for was actually 20 minutes north. But we both felt really strongly that we needed to have the Spanish missionaries knock on this door we just knocked on. So, we gave them a call and they went over, and they ended up meeting a lady who wanted to come to Church with them and had been looking for a Church!! It was wild. Anyway, we met some cool members, walked around the mall to find some people, and had a good day of full speed finding! That night we went to dinner with Devin and he took us to hot pot!! It was super fun and we all got to wear these funny aprons! It was a blast!
Saturdayyy we had a lesson with our member, Natalie! It's always fun to visit with her :) then we went to the Office and had a Social Media meeting which was good! After that, we went contacting up in Everett! We had ANOTHER crazy miracle!! We had this one member on record who had never been contacted, and we found her house and she was home! She was shocked that we found her because she hadn't touched her records in years, and it was super crazy. But she let us sit and talk with her and she was so awesome. And we actually had a lesson with her! She told us she hadn't been to Church in years and that she really needed what we brought :) We gave her the info for Church, and she said we could come back! It was a total miracle :))) it was an awesome day!
Sundayyy we had Ward Council and then Church! Sooooo many people came we had to open the overflow! It was so cool! Then after Church we had a good lesson with our member Cam :) we love herrrr then we got to know some more new faces in the Ward! We stopped by one of our member's houses and they gave us cinnamon rolls ๐ฅน we have the best Ward ever. Then we had dinner with some of the Sales people!! It's always so fun hanging out with them, they're so awesome. Then that night we had Mission Devotional which was sooooo good!!
Today we'll probably play some pickleball and eat some pizza!
OKAY LET'S GET SPIRITUAL
I read a talk this week called "Covenants with God Strengthen, Protect, and Prepare Us for Eternal Glory" by Jean B. Bingham. She talks about why our covenants are so important and how we remeber them every day. She says, "As we fulfill our everyday tasks in “higher and holier” ways, we become more connected to the Savior and, at the same time, help others come unto Him. What does that “higher and holier” way look like? We try to live the gospel in all our interactions. We care for those in need by truly ministering, expressing love through simple service. We share the good news of the gospel with those who need peace and strength and “know not where to find it". I love thinking about that "higher and holier way". There are so many things we do throughout the day that may seem mundane or just something we do, but in reality, they can mean so much more. Every action we make during the day can fulfill our covenantal promises with God, if we choose to live our lives in a way that helps us remember the Savior in everything. I would invite you all to try to remember the higher and holier ways you can live this week! There is so much joy to be found in keeping our covenants!!
I love you all a WashingTON ❣️
